How to add an EPG to Enigma2

Enigma2 receivers such as VU+, Dreambox, Zgemma and Octagon (OpenATV, OpenPLi, VTi and other images) can show a full TV guide on IPTV bouquets. The guide is imported by the EPG-Importer plugin, and the IPTV bouquet tools pass it your EPG link.

Steps

  1. Install e2m3u2bouquet (or the IPTV bouquet plugin of your image) from Plugins → Download plugins, together with EPG-Importer.
  2. Open the plugin, add your IPTV playlist and paste your EPG Full link in the EPG URL field.
  3. Run the plugin to create the IPTV bouquets: it also creates the EPG-Importer source for your link.
  4. Open EPG-Importer, tick the new source and choose Manual import, then set an automatic import once a day.

Tips for Enigma2

  • The exact menu names depend on your image and plugin version; look for an EPG or XMLTV URL option in the IPTV plugin.
  • Use the smaller eu.xml.gz, world.xml.gz or a custom guide: the import is faster and uses less memory on the receiver.
  • Import once a day: the guide covers several days ahead.

Which link do I use?

In your EPG Full panel you get three links: epg.xml.gz (every channel), eu.xml.gz (European channels) and world.xml.gz (other countries), plus a custom link with only the categories you choose. On slower TV boxes, add only what you need.

Channels still empty?

Let the player download the guide once (a minute on slow boxes), then refresh the EPG. Event and PPV channels show a placeholder with the event name.

Questions about Enigma2

Does EPG Full work with XStreamity or Jedi Maker Xtream?

Yes, if the plugin lets you set an external or alternative EPG URL: paste your EPG Full link there. Otherwise use e2m3u2bouquet with EPG-Importer.

Why are some IPTV channels still empty on my receiver?

EPG-Importer links the guide to bouquet channels through the channel IDs and names the bouquet tool created. Recreate the bouquets after adding the EPG link, then run the import again.
